You may be eligible to apply to be a member of Team Canada-ISEF 2018 to represent Canada at the Intel Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from May 13-18.
The Intel ISEF is the world's largest pre-college celebration of science that brings together over 2,000 students from 78 nations to compete for over $4 million in awards, scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and 3 grand prizes, including a $75,000 university scholarship.
The application process for Team Canada-ISEF is quite different to a regional fair or the CWSF/ESPC because it has several stages and ISEF has stricter rules. Your Team Canada-ISEF project, which may be a continuation of your CWSF project, must be approved BEFORE you begin work on it. (You may submit your existing CWSF project only if you began work on it AFTER January 1, 2017 and will complete all work on it within a year of the start date.)
As a result, it is important to apply for Team Canada-ISEF as soon as possible so your project can be reviewed and approved by the Youth Science Canada Scientific Review Committee (SRC).
Short-listed Candidates (notified in January) are assigned a project mentor - a past Team Canada-ISEF member who can provide feedback and advice on the Project Report and PowerPoint presentation required for the Selection Panel phone interview. If you're selected to the team, they can also help you prepare your project for Intel ISEF.
