Les premiers ateliers en français du cadre Éducasciences ont été offerts à Brampton dans les bureaux du conseil scolaire Viamonde et à Ottawa au Conseil des écoles publiques de l’est de l’Ontario dans le cadre des instituts d’été 2011 offerts par le projet FARE. Au total, plus d’une trentaine d’enseignantes et d’enseignants des écoles de langue française ont participé à ces premières formations offertes en français. On y a traité de l’utilisation de l’affiche du cadre afin d’encourager les élèves à utiliser les 35 habiletés liées au processus. En savoir plus

The 'State of the Nation 2010 report is a comprehensive report resulting from studies done by The Science, Technology and Innovation Council which provides the Government of Canada with evidence-based science and technology advice on issues critical to Canada's economic development and Canadians' social well-being. We are proud to announce that Smarter Science has published the first in a series of information booklets describing our inquiry-based education framework. "Introducing the Framework" provides a teacher's overview of the framework. In what we believe is a first, the booklet provides definitions and descriptors for each process skill in the framework. Inquiry By The Valley - Echoes was the second follow-up workshop to the successful Smarter Science Summer Institute on August 4 and 5, 2010. The one-day event brought together teachers that are implementing Smarter Science techniques in their classroom. On January 11, 2011 in New York City, Google launched the Google Science Fair (GSF) - a global online competition for students 13 to 18 years old. Students enter their projects online in a format very similar to that required by regional science fairs across Canada and the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF). The annual conference for science teachers is happening this week. The STAO (Science Teachers Association of Ontario) conference runs from November 11 to 13 at the Doubletree Hotel in Toronto.
